I came upon CrossFit in 2011, I was a department manager at a local grocery store and 30 pounds overweight with 2 herniated lumbar discs. After a year of working out at home I lost some weight and was not hurting anymore in my lower back, but I was getting bored and unmotivated. I did not want to go backwards I needed a kick in the butt! I must admit when I first heard of CrossFit it was mainly portrayed to me as a group workout and visions of aerobics and Zumba danced in my head.
When I witnessed my first CrossFit workout that could not have been any further from the truth! I was amazed and hooked, I hadn’t even done it yet and knew that this is what I was looking for. I didn’t come from an athletic background and since starting CrossFit, Health and Fitness have taken on a whole new meaning for me, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. When I first started I hadn’t seen a Clean & Jerk or a Snatch before and I was intimidated. I enjoyed the body weight, kettlebell, and dumbbell work, then a Coach started giving me some instruction and more personal attention on the Olympic Lifts and it became fun and I wanted to do better and lift more! I really enjoy seeing people experience new things and want to get better at them, it’s really exciting.
After training for a year at a local box I decided to get my level 1 and become a coach, I left my job of 20 years to do this full time and couldn’t be happier! After Coaching CrossFit for two years I decided to open my own facility. The community of CrossFit is unmatched and is my favorite aspect, the different backgrounds coming together in a challenge, pushing each other on and becoming friends in and out of the box is Awesome!
I am a Coach first and foremost, I put my athletes first. I get so much joy out of seeing people experiencing the challenge and emotion of CrossFit, people accomplishing things that they never thought possible!
My Coaching / Programming Philosophy is built around weightlifting and strength is a skill, both must be practiced on a regular basis to maximize potential. You don’t have to look like the Hulk to be strong, mental and emotional inner strength to push through or get back up if you fail makes you strong as well.

I am a wife, mom, and U.S. Navy Veteran. I have been athletic most of my life and, weirdly, even enjoyed boot camp;) I was a mechanic on F/A-18’s in the Navy, Plane Captain, and flight deck qualified. Since then, I have been raising 2 teens and got back into athletics as my kids have gotten older. I found CrossFit April 2012 and fell in LOVE! I went to take the Level 1 CrossFit course and held that certificate within 3 months.
I love the challenge of it all around. It doesn’t matter what I am doing, I can always improve and I NEVER get bored!
My favorite part of coaching is encouraging members through the process they go through, from just starting, to that point where they see progress in themselves, their strength, and their abilities. I get to see the walls of the limits they create, crumble, to allow them to go beyond what they thought they could do. That’s the best part!
